Fees & Payment Policy:
The fee for the first month ($550.00) will be due upon drop off. You will be invoiced monthly by mail at the start of each additional month. Said dog will not be returned without appropriate compensation for the time in training. Your dog will continue to be trained for one month after your invoice had been issued. If you fail to pay after this 30 day period we reserve the right to: a) cease training the dog and b) sell or re - home the dog.
- Handling fees for hunt test or field trials are $50 per day and entry fees must be covered by owner. These competition fees are not included in monthly training.
- Flyer fees for live shot birds may range from $10 to $50 monthly and are not included in the standard monthly training fee.
- You may be billed for expenses when we train in other states or far locations; these fees account for the extra care and expenses that will be required while traveling. Such fees are not included in your standard training fee.
- None of these “extra” fees (except for live shot flyers) will be billed without verbal agreement from the owner.
Liability Waiver:
It is the owner's responsibility to pay medical / veterinary cost(s) if said pet causes any serious physical damages to other animals or humans. While we understand canine behavior and temperaments can have fluctuations, dogs deemed to exhibit serious aggression issues will be removed from our training programs.
By signing this agreement the owners of said dog acknowledge that the dog will be transported by vehicle in crate or dog trailer to numerous training areas and will be in the care of Danielle R. Pellicci or her husband and partner Steven Pellicci at all times. During retriever training, occasional live shells are used for shooting birds and owner acknowledges that said dog will have exposure to gun fire, swimming water, and various terrain scenarios that might be dangerous for dogs. *
* We at BlackFoot Kennels ™ never want to see a dog injured during their stay with us during boarding, training, trialing, or testing. We do our very best to keep all of our dogs safe. Safety is the top priority. For example; we have never encountered alligators in the ponds where we train our dogs at multiple training locations; however, living in SC the threat is always present. Please note that by signing this waiver you are agreeing to not seek any legal or financial action against Danielle R. Pellicci or Steven Pellicci in the case of accidental death or injury of your pet during the monthly training and/or boarding.
General Care and Maintenance of Your Dog:
- If dog is found to have fleas or ticks it will be removed from training until the dog has been bathed, treated, and free of parasites (at owner's expense). We suggest that you provide monthly flea and tick topical applicators as well as monthly heart worm preventative tabs.
- We feed and recommend Purina Pro Plan™ brand “Adult” or “Performance” dog foods. These dog foods are provided as part of your dog’s training fee. If you choose to supply your own please make arrangements to drop it off with your dog and we can bill you monthly if we need to purchase more. We feed the dogs twice daily to avoid bloat and gastric upset & to ensure proper energy needs while training.
- You dog will be kept at the home of Danielle Pellicci and Steven Pellicci. All dogs enrolled in our training program are kept in our safe, dry and covered outdoor kennel on raised decking above concrete. Each run has constant fresh water available, a dog house, and we provide the dogs safe chew toys to keep them occupied when they are not training or exercising.
- We never like to have to clean an accident in our outdoor kennels and someone is on sight nearly 24 hours a day to allow the dogs plenty of time in the airing yard to play and eliminate.
- In case of severe weather (extreme heat/cold or storms) the dogs are brought into our home and kept crated.
- Your dog must be up to date on the following inoculations: Rabies, Kennel Cough, and Distemper. You must bring proof of these inoculations when you drop off your dog. We will remind you if shots are due and make arrangements for a vet visit if needed (owner must pay vet fee plus a one time charge of $20 per hour spent with veterinarian).
By signing this contract owner agrees to all above and, in addition, gives permission to Danielle R. Pellicci or Steven Pellicci to bring said dog to the veterinarian of their choice in case of accident, illness, or injury.
